Obituary of Patricia Ann Woodard

Patricia Ann Carrington Woodard October 10, 1942 – March 12, 2024 Patricia “Pat” was born in San Francisco to parents Wilbert “Bill” Carrington and Dorothy Michael Carrington at Saint Mary’s Hospital. Pat attended Delta College after graduation from Notre Dame High School in Alameda, Ca. She was a certified LVN for many years. She worked at Amador County Hospital, Internal Medicine and many other doctor’s offices as well as Kit Carson Hospital. She maintained her license for at least 40 years in Amador County. She touched many lives in the community with her compassionate care and easy smile. Pat was a devout Catholic her whole life and lived a life of faith, family, and service to her community. When Pat passed away, she had her rosery in her hand. She was a long-time member of the Young Ladies Institute. She participated in and attended classes as well as teaching the Catholic faith. Pat was a member of Soroptimist and served as secretary and was a past president. She was devoted to the principles and goals that Soroptimist abide by. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Michael Carrington, her late husband Dale Woodard and her grandson Daniel Hayden. Pat passed away in Orangevale, Ca where she had lived for 15 months while under the care of her loving daughter Maree and a care team that treated her with loving attention. Pat is survived by her sons, Wayne (Marianne) Woodard, Kevin (Michele) Woodard and daughters Cheri (Mark) Ramsey and Maree Carrington-Woodard, in addition to her sister Donna (Dave) Miller. Pat and Dale had 12 grandsons,15 great grandchildren and many more children who thought of her as their grandma. Pat and Dale were married for 54 years. The family has asked that donations be made to Soroptimist of Amador Co in lieu of flowers. All donations will go toward Amador County High Schools Scholarships for graduating seniors and women’s grants known as “Live Your Dream” that will assist in furthering their education.
